News Update
Hello everyone,
Duncan, our Proteus magician/lead dev is having to scale back his time with Proteus, due to demands on his time in other areas. I’d like to thank him for the wonderful start he’s given Proteus, and I hope he will be able to help again in the future.
Having said that, Proteus is looking for the following talent:
Cocoa and imservices Developers
If you or anyone you may be interested please contact tommy at : support AT proteusx DOT org.
To leave off on a more happy note, there is also a new beta available. It’s version 4.15 which fixes the growl notification bug, which can downloaded from the main page.
Extras will begin coming online within the coming week.

What are the system requirements for Proteus? I don’t see them listed anywhere on your site, and I don’t download programs unless I know they will run on my system.

I downloaded this version, and every time I try to open it, I get an error message saying that “Imservices” couldn’t be accessed, and Proteus crashes as a result.

The current problem I am experiencing is that I am always invisible. No matter what I do I remain invisible and can’t change my status. Restarting Proteus or manually changing the status has no effect.

Not that I have anything against Proteus - I used it in the past to see how it was. It has some nice features, but overall I preferred the capabilities of Adium. Since Proteus seems to have difficulties moving forward, why not join forces with the AdiumX group (and potentially give some Proteus code where it could be helpful if written in the same programming language etc …]
Just a thought, nothing wrong with making 1 project better by bringing together forces…
